LOGiC.baby is focused on making positive impacts on the wellness, development, and comfort of babies, and enabling access, engagement, and empowerment for their families along their NICU journey.
Our vision is illustrated by what we believe would be an ideal first communication from the NICU healthcare team to new NICU parents. Of course not every NICU first day can start like this vision. But we will do our best to help support parents and healthcare teams to ensure that we get as close to the vision as we can, given the particular circumstances.
Dear NICU Parents:
Your role in your baby’s recovery is essential. You are part of the healthcare team and we care about your thoughts, feedback, and questions. Your baby needs you here as much as you are able, to become familiar with their medical issues, ask lots of questions, and help us make informed decisions.
This can be a hard time. There is a lot to learn and a lot of people involved. Stay present. Stay engaged. Ask for what you need and want. Make your concerns known.
This is also a time for you to practice caring for your baby while experienced professionals are here to assist. Being here and engaging with your baby will help them recover faster. It’s science!
It’s ok if you can’t be here as much as you would like. Please take time for self-care, rest, and recovery. Check in daily if you are able. Help us set up a communication plan and your team will chat in-person or call you with updates. When you’re not here, rest assured that we will take the best care we can and work to find ways to include you in the decisions we make and the progress your baby makes.
Remember, we will do our best to help support you and your medical teams along your NICU journey. We are here for you.
We do not offer medical advice and we encourage you to ask your doctors, nurses, and other members of your baby's healthcare team your medical questions! They are there to support you and your baby!
